International copyright law is made up of several agreements and treaties that protect literary, scientific, and artistic works:

Berne Convention A treaty that was ratified by nearly 180 countries and is administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT) An international treaty on copyright law adopted by WIPO member states in 1996.
Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property (TRIPS) Agreement An agreement under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) that requires signatories to implement national laws and establish procedures to enforce copyright rights. The World Trade Organization (WTO) manages the TRIPS Agreement.
Marrakesh Treaty :A treaty that facilitates access to published works for people who are blind, visually impaired, or otherwise print disabled.
Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances :A regional treaty managed by the WIPO.

The U.S. Copyright Office provides general information on international copyright relations through its Circular 38 A. The U.S. Copyright Office also:

Administers the national copyright registration and recordation system
Provides advice on copyright law to Congress, federal agencies, the courts, and the public

The U.S. Copyright Office states that there is no such thing as an "international copyright" that will automatically protect an author's writings throughout the world.
